Recipient of Virginia Hunt Newman International Award

St. Petersburg - May 11, 2012   World Aquatic Babies & Children Network today announced Niko Saito as the recipient of the 2012 award bearing the name of the group's founder Virginia Hunt Newman. Award was pesented during ceremonies held at International Swimming Hall of Fame in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida USA.

2013 Virginia Hunt Newman International Award Nominations Due by Jan. 4, 2013

Nominations for the 2013 Virginia Hunt Newman International Award are being accepted for the award to be  presented in early May, 2013 at ceremonies at the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida USA.

The award was originated in Newman’s honor by John Spannuth, a long time friend of Virginia's and CEO of the United States Water Fitness Association.  First awarded in 2004 to those who practiced Newman’s teaching philosophy of using gentle methods and progressions in working with babies and young children in the pool.  Past Newman Award recipients have come from Australia, Norway, Japan, Brazil, England and the United States thus far.
